This is a very well-crafted film. The Two Towers builds upon its predecessor and expands the Middle Earth universe. the narrative is strong as well as the acting. It's visuals hold up very well to the visual effects of today. Amid the spectacle and action, there is a very potent story that enhances the characters. The characters are all deepened by their own stories and by very well constructed dialogue. All the pieces get put in place for a great finale. This film is not only a great sequel, it is a great film all in it's own right. It is long, but it is well-paced and nothing seems to be unimportant to move the story along. Peter Jackson directed this masterfully. The score is epic and emotional. The Battle at Helm's Deep will forever be one of the most epic battles ever choreographed in cinema history. I could watch this film all the time and never get bored. There is rarely a dull moment, and when you think this film is about to drag, a great conflict happens that re-engages the viewer (if they were disengaged, which I doubt they would be). Overall I give this film a 9.5/10.
