"Deadpool 2" is everything you can expect going into a Deadpool movie. It has plenty of fourth wall breaks, violence, and jokes. Ryan Reynolds returns as the titular character and fits the role perfectly yet again. Josh Brolin also does a great job opposite Reynolds as Cable. The story is interesting and engaging. This film may not be as fresh as the first one, but it still does a great job as a standalone film an as a sequel. The jokes are sometimes too similar to the first, but the action is taken to a whole new level. The fighting is fun and exhilarating. Additionally, it is well choreographed and not too chaotic. Perhaps this movie's most surprising feature is it's emotional impact. It may be focused on the crazy action and funny jokes, but there are serious emotional moments in it also. The movie is self-aware and makes references to items that are poorly written to make them seem smartly written. The fact that this film points out all the coincidences that makes the plot move along is fresh and makes the script wittier than most superhero films. The addition of new characters helps expand the Deadpool universe effectively. "Deadpool 2" lives up to what it is meant to be and will not disappoint fans of the first film. Overall, I give this movie an 8/10.
