"Spy" is both hilarious and action-packed. This film is one of Melissa McCarthy's best films. She fits the role perfectly and is charming and hilarious will doing so. Writer-director Paul Feig does a great job of writing and directing as well. McCarthy and Feig have worked with each other on the comedy movies Bridesmaids and The Heat, and the chemistry between the two translates on screen very well. Not only does this film have McCarthy be comedic, it actual has her act within the scope of an action spy film. She brings this movie to life. The supporting cast is also very good. Jude Law, Jason Statham, and Rose Byrne do great. Statham steals a majority of the scenes he is in with his tough guy demeanor and ridiculous dialogue. The humor in this film is tasteful for the most part. It doesn't go into raunchy territory very often, but can go a little too profane to be funny. However, for every flat joke there is a plethora of funny ones. The action scenes are well choreographed and the effects are good. This is McCarthy's best movie with her as a lead and will not disappoint those seeking to have good laughs and a thrilling action flick. Overall, I give this film an 7.5/10.
