"Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" is an interesting movie. There are fun moments, and dull ones. Excitement and boredom. This movie's CGI effects are fantastic, but the spectacle of the film is relied on too heavily. The story is decent, but not overly engaging. The characters do not develop into anything worth caring about. The attempt at comic relief is lackluster also. The action is fun, even if it's over the top. There are some very suspenseful moments. This movie benefits from some solid direction. Chris Pratt does a good job in his role, even though his character is pretty flat. The camerawork is sharp and stylish. It is just a shame that the plot and character development are uninspiring. Not to mention that some of the writing is just too convenient to move the plot forward, such as characters making extremely illogical decisions that lead to big CGI filled action sequences. With all this being said, diehard fans of the series might find a lot to like since there is a lot of "Jurassic Park" homages. Overall, I give this movie a 5/10.
