This is without a doubt one of the greatest movies ever. It is beautifully shot, greatly scored, and very well acted. The story revolves around Harrison Ford's character, archaeologist Indiana Jones, as he goes on a quest to prevent the Ark of the Covenant from falling into the hands of the Nazis. It is simple, yet effective. The plot involves a lot of exhilarating action and understandable character motivations. George Lucas created the story, and Steven Spielberg takes the helm as director. Both do a fantastic job. The movie moves along at a crisp pace, rarely letting up on the action. However, when it does slow down to deliver exposition, it does so in a very tactful way that makes the exposition memorable and effective. There is really never a dull moment. There is a dash of humor which relieves some of the suspense which is nice. This movie is a clear homage to earlier adventure films, but in its own right has become a movie that so many after it have tried to replicate. Ford brings the character to life and makes Jones one of the most iconic movie characters ever. The acting across the board is great. And of course, the John Williams score to top everything off adds a layer of memorability and epicness that makes this movie very rewatchable and all around great. Overall I give this movie a 10/10.
