Game Night is a fun, fresh comedy. The script is sharp and smart. The cast is incredibly talented, and the story is hilarious. Game Night is able to deliver genuine laughs and not get into raunchy over-the-top jokes. Some drawbacks from this film are a couple of the characters are dull and the audience doesn't connect with them very much. Sometimes the decisions of certain players are head-scratchers and are funny as long as you find people making stupid decisions funny. However the two lead characters, portrayed by Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, are fun and relatable. This film takes time to dive a bit deeper into it's side stories than other comedies typically do, creating a fun and indulgent experience. There are some scenes that use fun camera motions that keep the intensity of the situations rolling. Overall this film is a recommended one to see. Keep in mind that it is a comedy and as most comedies do, will not provoke much deep reflection. It has it's sincere moments that can make you think "I should be nicer to that weird person at work" but nothing beyond that. I would give this movie a 8/10. The cast is great, the script is sharp, and the story is hilarious even if it has it's flaws.
