Martin Short steals every scene he is a part of in this movie. Steve Martin does a fine job as the main star in this film about a father accepting the fact his daughter is getting married. This movie is sweet and heartwarming. It is a good flick to put on and watch with the family, especially in-laws. It is not groundbreaking by any means, but it has it's own charm. The story is generic, and there are a few laughs. This film could have been a bit more potent with jokes, but tends to leave a lot of potential humor on the table. Steve Martin's natural fatherly appeal makes this a memorable classic. The script is decent and the actors do a great job of brining it to life. Overall, I give this film a 7/10.
