The grand finale of the Harry Potter saga is just as spectacular as it is hyped to be. Great acting, stunning effects, and a solid plot make this installment the best of the series. The previous installment involved a plethora of set up, and it payed off. The protagonists we have watched through seven previous films are final faced with extreme peril. The largest and most magic-driven battle within the series is a satisfying conclusion. This film is not just a bunch of fighting however, there is a great story in place also. It is compelling and even heavily emotional at times. There is a great twist and it can change how we perceive the entire series. There is loss and despair throughout this film, but one cannot feel hopeful for the heroes to overcome the menacing foe, Lord Voldemort. The effects are great and compliment the story greatly. The music heightens the intensity and we are on the edge of our seats for the majority of the ride. I cannot think of a dull moment in this installment, because I do not believe there is one. The magic is here, and with the focus on the struggle of good vs. evil rather than high school drama style romances, we can enjoy the least sappy of all the Harry Potter flicks. Director David Yates finishes it all off with his best piece. Overall, I give this movie an 8.5/10.
