"The Florida Project" is a very interesting film. It takes the audience into the lives of a not quite homeless mother and daughter. The acting is great and the use of colors is amazing. The film takes place near DisneyWorld, and we can feel the influence of it in the characters' lives but their lives are not as happy as Disney. This movie is perhaps the biggest snub at the 2018 Oscars for not even getting a Best Picture nod. The gritty realism of this movie makes it ultra relatable and sympathetic. The chemistry between the mother (played by Bria Vinaite) and the daughter (played by Brooklynn Prince) is touching and believable. Prince does a fantastic job as the main child actor and so do the others. Willem Dafoe also does a great job acting as the motel's manager, Bobby. The film tells the story of living in cheap motels from the childrens' perspective which is a great way to have done this movie. The mix of humor and drama make this one of the best films to come out of 2017. Overall, I give this film a 9/10.
