A person could start watching any 3 of the "How to Train Your Dragon" movies and be entertained and moved almost the same by each movie. However, there is such a lofty expectation on these movies because of first one's greatness. "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World," completes the trilogy wonderfully, while also expanding the world in the process. This film has a lot of similar themes as the second installment with a very similar villain motivation, albeit slightly different (control vs destruction of dragons). This movie has a great message of being able to move on from things we are attached to for the betterment of ourselves and others, much like "Toy Story 3". The human characters learn to not rely on the dragons to protect themselves and again all the characters grow and learn. This movie's villain is more interesting than the previous film's but there are still a lot of thematic similarities. Overall, I give this film a 8.5/10.
