Steven Soderbergh came out of retirement to direct this movie. Although it may not be his absolute best movie, it is a fun ride and offers a bit of everything from suspense to comedy. The southern characters sometimes come across as cartoonish or overly exaggerated with their southerness. However, Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and Daniel Craig all play interesting characters and make this movie enjoyable. The characters don't really have crazy changing arcs, but that's not the point of this movie, it is more or less to show how average joes can pull off an incredibly tricky heist. The story is a typical heist movie similar to "Ocean's Eleven" except instead of it being a casino, it's a raceway being robbed. The dialogue is both funny and smart. The music is stylish and fun. This movie is really a well done movie, and although it may have a bit of an identity crisis between being a comedy or serious heist film, it offers enough heart to be a good movie. The movie is written and realized with so many intricacies and details in the story that it makes it very rewatchale. It may not be the most intellectually stimulating film, but it will take you on a fun ride. It is slightly under 2 hours long, but does feel a bit dragged out in the last half. Overall I give this movie a 7.5/10.
