"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" is a very fun and funny movie. The script is fun, even if it's not perfect. The main goal for this film is to be fun and adventurous with over-the-top action, which it does very well. However, with all the humor and effects, the character's are left shallow. The main character, Scott Pilgrim, just wants to win the affection of a girl because she's attractive. It's not a very deep story nor does it develop the character's to any deeper degree. At least the actors do great in their roles. Michael Cera plays the awkward titular character perfectly. The movie as a whole is hilarious. This is another film that is extremely quotable. Nearly every line of dialogue has some layer of a joke written into it. The action sequences are also fun and fresh. The mix of video game and comic-book elements provide this film with it's own uniqueness. Director, Edgar Wright, pulled this movie off very well. Overall, I give this film a 7.5/10.
