I remember seeing the teaser for this movie before it came out and thinking that it looked stupid. I like Spider-Man, so I was still willing to see this movie, but my expectations were low. I was absolutely blown away. Sometimes this happens thought where your expectations are low and they get exceeded and you think the movie is actually better than it is, but with "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse", it really only gets better and better every time you watch it. First off, the animation is amazing. It does take a minute to get used to, but the idea of a movie animated with comic book style formatting was amazing. The amount of detail in every frame is astounding. The colors accentuate the tone of the moment and it is powerful. The action is great, honestly some of the best superhero action I have seen. The main character, Miles Morales, is incredibly likable and has a great story arc. The other Spider-people are interesting too, but Gwen Stacy and Peter B. Parker stand out from the Spider-crowd. Peter B. Parker serves as a mentor to Miles and is both funny and an interesting take on a Spider-Man since he is a bit older and out of shape. Gwen Stacy is just awesome. She is a cool contrast to Miles, but also grows by eventually letting down her guard a bit and becoming friends with Miles. The story overall is a fairly conventional superhero origin (which this film acknowledges), but the plot devices make it feel more fresh than a standard origin. The dialogue is great, and the voice acting behind the words is phenomenal. I particularly liked Jake Johnson's voice acting for Peter B. Parker a lot, but everyone involved does great. Lastly, this movie uses a hip hop soundtrack and it totally works. The music may not age too well, but maybe it will. It does a great job adding another layer onto an already great movie. Overall, I give this movie a 10/10.
