Arguably the best Dreamworks animated movie, "How to Train Your Dragon," is a great movie. not only is this movie great, but it spawned two sequels that are nearly as good. This installment in the trilogy though is probably the best. The animation is good, albeit a bit dated now. The characters are great. Whether it is Hiccup or his father, Stoic, or the dragon, Toothless, wach character is interesting and grows into a better version of themselves by the film's end. This movie teaches its audience to move past misunderstandings and love others. The Vikings have a violent rivalry with dragons, but when hiccup is unable to kill a dragon, an unlikely friendship between him and the dragon change the course of dragon-human relations forever. Not only is this movie sentimental, but the action sequences are also great. Scenes where Hiccup rides Toothless through the sky are exhilarating, and the final showdown with an enormous dragon is visually stunning and intense. This movie hits all the right notes, it is funny and serious, exciting and deep. Overall, I give this movie a 9/10.
