"The Prince of Egypt" is a fun and entertaining piece from DreamWorks. It has fantastic animation, a very strong voice cast, and amazing music. It may not be entirely accurate to the Exodus story, but it is close enough for children to understand the general idea of the story. Something that this movie does really well is making a religious story into something non-offensive and entertaining enough for children and adults. The narrative is good and the morals taught are great morals regardless of religious preferences. The animation is great. Most notably, when Moses parts the Red Sea, the animation is truly stunning. The music and songs are quite possibly the best that Dreamworks has ever produced. "When You Believe" won the Oscar for Best Original Song and it is easy to see why it did. The voice cast all fit into their characters extremely well. Val Kilmer, Sandra Bullock, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jeff Goldblum, and Ralph Fiennes all do extremely well. This is a good movie and is a good movie to teach children the power of believing. Overall, I give this film an 8/10.
